The marine transportation network linking Hokkaido to the world is extensive, with more than ten shipments a week arriving at the ports of Tomakomai, Kushiro, Ishikariwan-Shinko and Otaru, direct containerized transportation routes to North America, China and Southeast Asia, and international feeder transportation routes passing through the Port of Busan, South Korea
